yeah i thought fly fishermen were gentlemen too,and you are certainly not 1 trying to make yourself sound cool by saying my father drank blah blah blah pretty bad when your narrator agrees with me and yes there is nothing like a wild salmon but a see no need in blinding a fish and then releasing him if you do that my as well keep em all ,fuck it eh!

Dear zymbotictoot. I always pictured fly-fishers as beeing gentlemen. But obviously I was wrong. You are not a gentleman. I suggest you find another channel for your anger my friend. And remember. It wasn´t your fault your father drank! You were just a child! And for your information…there is nothing like a fresh wild salmon. And we can actually afford to keep them here in Iceland.

i sure hope you kept the fish after blinding them by dragging them across the rocks asshole!

rule of thumb, 5 to 15 minutes to land fish depending. the more the salmon spends fighting the less chances of a successfull release.

I can answer you if you could tell me first what is the time you allow for a landing? Are there any rules? About 5 minutes? or…what the fuck…???

Great fishing clip! To all the people who complained about the salmon being beached, get over it! The salmon will be fine. They bang and crash against stones and rocks as they swim up the river. The most important thing is to get the hook out and get them back in the water quickly… which he did. Nice underwater shots. Good on you!

Aside from the horrible landing, that was a fantastic piece of work. Don’t think I’ve seen anything like it. Thank you.

HI . No we didn´t search with the camera. we just went up and down the river – very carefully – and used our eyes…and polaroid glasses. we thought there might be a couple of fish in the pool! we didn´t see all of them until the camera was in the water.
Apr 22, 2010 - 8:21 am
Absolutely amazing footage ,just shows how the fish react when one of the group of fish is hooked and the others dont even look as though anything different is happening
Question though how did you guys know the fish were there ,did you search the water first with the camera??
thank you for a brilliant peace of work

so I this guess clip is part of a documentary? About salmon fishing? Where can I see it?
Apr 22, 2010 - 8:49 am
we get this close with a 12 feet pole and a small lense on the end but the camera recorder on the other end. everything is on a tripod where the screen and the controls for everything are. you can buy one for 20.000 pounds! The water has to be relatively clear though.

ok now u made me nosy
how did u get so close to them – especially with a moving frame? Cause I go to norway in July and I would love to take at least kind of underwater pictures of a salmon played and landed. Greetz, Jan

hi oku66. we used a special camera that is not very disturbing to the salmon. It´s called Pole Cam. But it took us a month to learn how to approach the salmon with the camera.
